Janine “J9″ Micheletti  is a native New Yorker and street fusion choreographer. She graduated from SUNY Purchase’s School of Art & Design with a concentration in photography. Thereafter, she has spent most of her professional life as a visual artist and accomplished textile designer. In 2009, she began taking dance classes again as a hobby. The art form quickly enraptured her as it did as a child, and since she has pursued it with fierce abandon. This dedication has led her to being selected for the Breaking Glass emerging female choreographers program run by Ellenore Scott, which in turn has granted her shows at many venues throughout New York City. She was able to produce her own show this year called, Street Spectrum, the premise, an exploration of street styles married to the art form of dance itself. Some brands/artists she has worked with include Squarespace, G. Wilson Activewear, Rica Shay, Ephrat Asherie Dance, Jamie J. Invitation Company, Makeout Club at House of Yes, MTV, Daddy Yankee, and New Politics.

Janine’s current focus is working towards blending her knowledge from visual art with dance. Her main work is centered around multiplication of freestyles and choreography which she plans to turn into an eventual full length show. Her live work has been centered around telling stories through street fusion dance.

Janine teaches at Broadway Dance Center for Ephrat Asherie, Ms. Vee, Carlos Neto, Keenan Cooks, Chio, and Jamie J. and is on faculty for their Children and Teen Program. She teaches adult donation based classes that are held every Monday night from 8-9pm at Liberated Movement .

Based out of Brooklyn, NY.
